ProcrastiNATION is "SINful" !!

It is a SIN because it can destroy the entire NATION !!
Yet we are guilty all the time.
Otherwise, it would not have taken me this much time to
"introduce" myself properly. Like i said, it is "difficult",
but then surmounting difficulties is what makes a WINNER !

Born on 10 April 1956 to a government servant's family in the
backwaters of Punjab, i have a few memories from my childhood
in CHANDIGARH which was a little over 6 years in the calendar.
BRAG = I was born around the same place which gave CRICKET &
Politics a star like Navjot Singh Sidhu and was later admitted
to the very school which would become the blossoming field of
Kapil Dev and, much later, Yuvraj.

Coming to Delhi is remembered vaguely as "coming to a village"
after being in a "city" like Chandigarh. In contemporary terms,
only a few months later China invaded [ 1962 ] India. While the
kids in Delhi-9 got to play in Z-shaped trenches that were dug up
all over the place, one of my uncles survived on raw fish & ...x.
.x... in what would become a newsworthy place only much later.
He was a colonel in the Indian Army & i remember him proudly.

The Indo-Pak war of August,1965 and the death[s] of JL Nehru and
L B Shastri are as freshly etched in my memory as the bravado of
people like Sqd. Leader Keeler & Lance Nayak [ or a Havaldar ? ]
Abdul Hameed.
Remembering the likes of him still moistens my eyes and brings a
lump to my throat.
@@@@ ...just mentioning a FACT related to the present moment.

After a lot of "shifting residences" within New Delhi, we left for
Nagaland on *9-Feb-1969 reaching Kohima finally on 13-Feb-1969
rather than the originally scheduled 12-Feb-1969.
Just confirms that the state of Indian Railways hasn't changed
much in these forty years.
Incidentally, they were ALSO my grandfather T R Suri's employers
at the time of my birth and till he retired in 1959 and settled down
in Dehradun.

I still miss our Summer Vacations spent in the company of almost all
of my cousins.
The Mango & Litchi trees with their bounty are also simply "unforgettable".

Introducing Yourself is a Difficult Task !

Are YOU sure that you know yourself - 100% ?
Do you not go through different moods and emotions
during the course of a day ?

Well, i certainly do !!

52 - last birthday, in April,2008 - i find that many things
that i have experienced in these 52 years might well be
worth [for most] more than an entire lifetime.

3 things that had a major impact on what i am today :
................
[People correctly complain that i'm too verbose]

[1]
My father's transferrable job meant that my 12 years of
schooling was done from nine different schools [might be
more, certainly not less] & there were no 4 straight years
of my life spent in a single house [never had a 'home' one
can say] till i was nearly 33.
RESULT : There are Not Many Friends in my Life !
[2]
Worked "within a 4 k.m. radius" whenever in a job - 21+ yrs
in a single place notwithstanding, even with as many as four
different houses shifted during that tenure.
RESULT : Always Plenty of Quality Leisure Time in Hand
[3]
A Near Death Experience at age 24+ which possibly might be
responsible for my having a different view of life from that
of any normal young man.
RESULT : No Love for Material Things & No Respect for Money
